End of Year Reminders

As we approach the end of the 2015-2016 school year, please keep these things in mind. There is no school for students on Friday, May 27. This is a staff development day. There is no school on Monday, May 30 in honor of Memorial Day. The last day of school is Wednesday, June 1. On June 1, students will be dismissed from school at 12:40 pm. Students will be served breakfast, but there will not be any lunches served. If you have any questions about the end of the school year, please ask your child’s teacher, Mr. Nellis, or Mr. Blume.

GROUNDBREAKING NEWS

On Wednesday, May 18 some early childhood students from Louis Wiener, Jr. Elementary School were given the opportunity to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new school to built near Arville and Mesa Verde.

PTA PICNIC IS THURSDAY

Please join us on Thursday, May 19 for our PTA BBQ-Picnic. There will be lots of activities for students and families, as well as food.

BE KIND T-Shirts for Field Day

BE KIND t-shirts for Field Day are currently available for pre-order in the office. T-shirts are $10 (cash please). They are on sale until Thursday, April 28, 2016. All children and adult sizes (up to 3X) are currently available. After April 28, we will not be able to take any more orders. T-shirts will be delivered in time for Field Day on May 13.

DISTRICT SURVEY – Safety, academics and school climate are among the many topics that are the focus of the 2016 Clark County School District (CCSD) Parent Survey, available online from April 11 through June 2 at ccsd.net/district/surveys. The 10-minute survey, available in English and Spanish, is confidential and part of the district’s efforts to engage the community on important issues facing students and their families.

Join the CCSD Mammoth Penny Push

Louis Wiener, Jr. Elementary is teaming up with all schools in the Clark County School District for the “Mammoth Penny Push”.

Students are encouraged to donate spare change to Protectors of Tule Springs to support the National Monument.
